Self employment is becoming an alternative for more people.
The Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program, funded by Employment Ontario, provides support to qualified individuals who wish to become self employed.
• You have to be an “Entrepreneur”
• You need “a lot of money” to get started
• You have to be a professional or have a PhD
• Your business idea has to be unique
• You must know all aspects of running a business?
• Regulations, bookkeeping, etc.
Ontario Office Works Inc. delivers the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program for Employmnet Ontario in the southwestern portion of the Niagara Region, including the municipalities of Welland, Pelham, Port Colborne, and Wainfleet and the Town of Dunnville.
We also provide French language services for the Niagara Region.
The program offers a combination of one on one mentoring and workshops.
Realities
In today’s changing world, more and more people are choosing to become self employed. They have the skills and abilities to create their own opportunities. Many businesses offering services can be started with a minimal amount of money. What they lack is knowledge on how businesses work and how to successfully manage a business. The obstacle is in not knowing where or how to start. We can help. All you need is the business idea.
Program Eligibility
You may qualify for the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program if you are currently unemployed and:
In receipt of, or eligible to receive, E.I. Benefits
OR

Our clients feel that attending workshops is an important part of the program. Participants learn, network, form alliances, grow in a business sense and they have fun! The workshops focus on areas of business such and Marketing, Administration and Human Resources.
